The practice of grounding (connecting and rooting to the physical world), cleansing (clearing away the clutter in your mind that brings stress, fear, pain and other negative energy) and protecting (a barrier between you and whatever negativity might infect the calm you have found) can be done in the morning, evening, or both. They can all be done together, or each on their own as needed. Sometimes you will want to shake off some negativity you encounter or cause yourself, other times a little extra protection seems like a good idea. In those cases, use only what you need.
I'll break down the process in future blogs and explain how using them at least once a day can make you life calmer, healthier and actually teach you how to meditate without even trying. For now I simply pose these questions:
1. Do you feel like you are rooted to the world and your place in it at all times or floating like a balloon wherever fate takes you?
2. Have you ever wished you could give shape to all the things and people that cause you stress, frustration, pain, fear or annoyance and sweep them away and out of your mind, at least temporarily?
3. Have you ever wished you could walk around in your own bubble of protection (sometimes I wish I could walk around encased in bubble wrap, right up there with Nerf world in personal safety options)?
